Cell Therapy in Cardiovascular Disease
author
Abstract:
Recently, cell therapy has sparked a revolution in ischemic heart disease that will in the future help clinicians to cure patients. Earlier investigations in animal models and clinical trials have suggested that positive paracrine effects such as neoangiogenesis and anti-apoptotic can improve myocardial function. In this regard the Royan cell therapy center designed a few trials in collaboration with multi hospitals such as Baqiyatallah, Shahid Lavasani, Tehran Heart Center, Shahid rajaee, Masih daneshvari, Imam Reza, Razavi and Sasan from 2006. Their results were interesting. However, cardiac stem cell therapy still faces great challenges in optimizing the treatment of patients. Keyword: Cardiovascular disease, Cell therapy.

Alzheimer disease (AD) is a progressive neurodegenerative brain disorder which plays an important role in neural cell destruction and as a result it causes memory loss in the patients. This disease is also the most common type of dementia which doesn’t completely respond to medical treatments so no certain cure is available. Recent studies show the advantages of using stem cells (SCs) in ...

UNLABELLED Stem cell therapy has been viewed as a promising therapeutic strategy in ischemic cardiovascular disease for almost a decade. Although many progenitor/stem cells obtained from patients have been investigated, and are alleged to be suitable for autologous transplantation, their therapeutic application has been limited by their inability to yield a sufficient number of stem cells, as w...
full textAdvances in stem cell therapy for cardiovascular disease (Review)
Cardiovascular disease constitutes the primary cause of mortality and morbidity worldwide, and represents a group of disorders associated with the loss of cardiac function. Despite considerable advances in the understanding of the pathologic mechanisms of the disease, the majority of the currently available therapies remain at best palliative, since the problem of cardiac tissue loss has not ye...
full textAntiplatelet therapy in cardiovascular disease.
Platelet activation and aggregation are considered to be central to arterial thrombus formation. Antiplatelet therapy is therefore important for both the treatment and prevention of cardiovascular disease. Aspirin, the most widely used antiplatelet agent, inhibits platelet cyclo-oxygenase and the conversion of arachidonic acid to the potent platelet agonist thromboxane A(2) but does not prevent...
